Discovery Support Services (DSS) was born out of the desire to create an agency that maintains its focus on clients' needs and does not ignore any areas where many people fall through the gaps. As a private business, we are removing the “red tape”, waiting lists, and specialized application processes that marginalize clients, and are able to reach our clients when they need support the most. We want to simplify the support and counselling process and bring it back to where it belongs: one on one counselling that maintains the focus on compassion, empathy, genuine caring, and relationship building. We believe that the most powerful tool in the counselling process is the relationship that’s established between the professional counsellor and the client and that relationship becomes the tool for manifesting positive change. We also have a strong belief in commitment and maintaining that commitment with continued contact and follow up. Our goal is to stick with you through the crisis and stay there with you for as long as needed. Our programs are developed based on years of experience and knowledge of what works and what doesn’t work. We know our approach is effective because we have witnessed its success in practice.
